Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. All Deputy services are available on a simple monthly rolling basis.
We also offer optional annual plans with a discount for committed clients.
What if I only have a few devices or users?
Deputy scales down as well as up. You can start with as few as one protected device and one supported user — then add more as your business grows.
What if we already have an internal IT person/team?
Deputy works brilliantly alongside internal IT staff — especially in smaller teams.
Think of Deputy as a second set of hands — always available, always consistent.
You keep strategic control, and we take care of the noisy day-to-day.
Is support included with Deputy: Core?
Deputy: Core includes full monitoring, patching, protection, and reporting — but not user helpdesk support.
If you want user support (e.g. password resets, Outlook issues), you can add
Deputy: Assist.
Can you help with Cyber Essentials?
Yes.
Deputy: Comply is built specifically for Cyber Essentials and GDPR support.
We help you fix the gaps, prep the forms, and even assist with submission.
Where is my data stored?
Backups through Deputy: Backup are encrypted and stored in secure UK or EU data centres, powered by trusted partner infrastructure.
What’s the onboarding process like?
Once you approve the proposal:
- We schedule a kickoff call (15–30 mins)
- We install lightweight agents on each device (remote)
- You receive your first monthly risk report within 30 days
How fast do you respond to support requests?
For clients with
Deputy: Assist, we respond within standard business hours — typically under 1 hour for most requests, with most issues resolved same-day.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
We work with SMBs across sectors — especially professional services (law, accounting), trades, and healthcare.
If you need stable, compliant, secure systems — we can help.
Can I cancel if I’m not happy?
Yes. You can cancel or modify your plan any time — we believe in keeping clients by being useful, not by locking them in.
